Understanding The Costs
Each Certificate level qualification consists of a training package that contains a number of combined core and elective competencies.
These are the industry endorsed minimum standards required to competently undertake the task. On completion of each competency, the student will have agreed skills and knowledge in that area.
Generally the cost of training is made up of two elements:
- A rate per competency; and
- Tuition Fees.
The rate per competency and the tuition charge is usually payable by the employer. Subsidies may be available for one or both of these costs. The tuition fee is a flat fee (currently $1.45) set by state government per nominal hour trained. The number of nominal hours varies per competency and therefore a general estimate can only be provided for the tuition fees. This information can be provided by Civil Train upon request.
The rate per competency charged by Civil Train varies depending on the qualification and location of the training.
